Melville "Mel" A. Phipps

One of the original's - worked on the TR4 Chinook! Mel has been a great help to AvroLand, most of the names listed in the Orenda section came from Mel as have other notes and photo's within the site. Mel was one of the people who was able to stay on after Black Friday and became Chief Project Engineer - Aero, at Orenda Limited between 1960 - 1970 while the company was busy building GE engines under license.

Mel went on to Ontario Hydro as a Supervising Engineer, Specifications, Standard Materials and Services.
